RECUBOX® HRV 520 VENT-READY

RECUBOX® HRV 520 VENT-READY is a compact heat recovery unit prepared for installation with AFL CONSTANT FLOW EC fans. It represents an exceptionally durable, hygienic, and versatile foundation for modern balanced pressure air recovery in family houses, apartments, and smaller commercial buildings.

Custom manufacturing in the Czech Republic. RECUBOX® units are fully manufactured in the Czech Republic according to specific customer requirements. We use high-quality polypropylene materials from SIMONA AG and professional processing technology using Leister AG equipment.

Technology and Performance

The casing is structurally optimized for AFL EC CONSTANT FLOW fans, which represent an exceptionally smart solution for modern heat recovery. Thanks to the built-in Constant Flow function, the fans automatically react to changes in system resistance and help maintain long-term stable airflow, balanced pressure, low noise levels, and energy-efficient operation.

The unit is equipped with a counter-flow heat recovery exchanger with an efficiency of up to 90 %. The exchanger is intentionally designed with an emphasis on low pressure drops, which contributes to quiet, economical, and efficient operation.

System performance parameters with AFL CONSTANT FLOW fans:

  • Volumetric flow rate 520 m³/h,
  • External pressure up to 600 Pa,
  • Stable operation without complex commissioning/balancing.

Simple Installation

The casing is prepared so that fans can be installed very quickly and without complex modifications. Installation of AFL CONSTANT FLOW fans is done by simply sliding them into the prepared opening and securing them.

All outlets and the condensate drain are designed mirrored, so you choose the final orientation of the unit during the actual installation. RECUBOX® can also be operated with external fans according to your own design.

Regulation and Control

EC fan control is very simple using a DC 0–10 V signal. The unit can be controlled, for example, by:

  • Manual controller,
  • Smart regulation RekupeX REX EC,
  • Or direct connection to a Smart Home system, such as Loxone.

Product Delivery: RECUBOX® HRV 520 VENT-READY is delivered as a standalone casing without fans and without a control unit. These can be purchased separately and easily installed by the user.

Preparation for Sensors and Wiring

RECUBOX® is prepared in its basic version for measurement, cabling, and safe electrical installation. Thanks to well-thought-out details, the mounting of sensors, cable routing, and fan connection are fast, organized, and technically clean.

The unit thus facilitates not only the installation itself but also future service, modifications, and system expansion.

RECUBOX® includes 4 holders for mounting sensors. Each holder is located in one of the primary air paths: SUP, EHA, ETA, and ODA.

This ensures the unit is ready for easy and organized installation of measuring elements exactly where they are needed for proper system control and monitoring.

Grommets

Tight rubber cable grommets

RECUBOX® features tight rubber cable grommets, which are sealed in the basic version.

The grommets are designed for safe and clean cable routing without the need for additional interventions into the unit's construction, specifically for:

  • Sensor cables,
  • Fan control cables,
  • Fan power cables.

Installation box

Spacious installation box for safe electrical wiring

RECUBOX® is equipped with a sufficiently large installation box for organized and safe electrical connection. All wires and cables are routed into this box through tight rubber grommets, which help protect the system against air and moisture penetration.

From the installation box, screw-in conduits lead further, allowing for a hermetically sealed and mechanically durable cable exit to other parts of the system. The result is a clean, professional, and long-term reliable electrical solution.

100% BY-PASS

RECUBOX® HRV 520 VENT-READY is also available in a version with a 100% mechanical BY-PASS. This sophisticated system simultaneously closes the fresh air passage through the exchanger and opens a large bypass duct behind the exchanger.

The advantage is that even when the by-pass is active, the air continues to be filtered by the same filter as during normal operation through the exchanger.

Removable BY-PASS mechanism

The entire mechanism can be completely removed from the RECUBOX® in one move, just like the other components. Service, inspection, and cleaning are therefore exceptionally easy.

The mechanism is structurally prepared for the installation of any actuator with a minimum torque of 5 Nm. The actuator is mounted onto a prepared 10 mm thick plastic plate and locked against rotation with the included metric screw. Compatibility with a 14 mm diameter shaft is required.

Airtightness and Service Access

Airtightness of the casing is essential for effective heat recovery. RECUBOX® is equipped with massive adjustable latches, which allow for precise adjustment of the lid's pressure on the seal. As a result, the unit does not draw in false air and operates at the maximum possible efficiency.

CTU and Rekupex

Thanks to robust construction, high quality, and hygienic safety, our RECUBOX® units are part of many CTU (Czech Technical University) projects, including the unique S.A.W.E.R. system, which UCEEB is developing for extracting drinking water from air.

12-Year Warranty on Casing Airtightness

We provide an above-standard 12-year warranty on the airtightness of the RECUBOX® unit casing.

The casing is made of high-quality polypropylene and joined using hot gas welding technology, resulting in homogeneous, strong, and long-term stable joints without the risk of degradation.

Unlike constructions using glued joints, sealing tapes, or combinations of different materials, RECUBOX® maintains its airtightness and mechanical durability even after many years of operation.

Double-Shell Design and Insulation

RECUBOX® can be ordered without insulation or with 30 mm and 50 mm insulation.

Insulation is hermetically sealed between two shells. In the insulated version, a further 5mm PP shell is added in addition to the insulator, which increases durability and overall quality of workmanship.
