RECUBOX® OPEN is a modular heat recovery solution offering a high degree of flexibility when designing the complete ventilation system. Unlike conventional compact heat recovery units, the fans are not permanently integrated into the RECUBOX® casing – they are installed separately directly in the ductwork, just like the other system components.
This makes it possible to select the fan output, control system, filtration, silencers, post-heaters, dampers, BY-PASS and other accessories precisely for the individual installation. The result is a long service life, straightforward servicing, easy replacement of individual components and the option to expand or upgrade the system in the future.
RECUBOX® units are manufactured entirely in the Czech Republic according to each customer’s exact requirements. We use high-quality polypropylene materials from SIMONA AG and professional hot-gas welding technology using equipment from Leister AG.

Every RECUBOX® is manufactured as a carefully crafted technical product with an emphasis on precision, airtightness, durability and adaptation to the specific installation.
Casing airtightness is essential for the efficient operation of a heat recovery system. RECUBOX® is equipped with robust adjustable toggle latches, allowing the pressure of the service door against the seal to be adjusted precisely.
This limits unwanted air leakage into the casing and allows the system to operate at the highest possible efficiency. At the same time, it retains quick and convenient service access to both the heat exchanger and the interior of the RECUBOX®.
Thanks to their robust construction, high quality and hygienic safety, our RECUBOX® units are used in a number of projects at the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), including the unique S.A.W.E.R. system, which UCEEB is developing to produce drinking water from the air.
| Easy heat exchanger removal The heat exchanger can be removed from the RECUBOX® quickly and easily, practically in a single movement. This greatly simplifies regular inspection, maintenance and cleaning. |
|
| Maximum hygiene The removable heat exchanger makes it possible to clean both the exchanger itself and the entire interior of the RECUBOX® thoroughly. The design places particular emphasis on easy maintenance and a high standard of operating hygiene. |
|
| Mechanical sealing of the heat exchanger The heat exchanger is sealed inside the RECUBOX® using a gasket seated in a groove, without adhesives or conventional self-adhesive sealing tapes. The exchanger can therefore be removed and reinstalled easily. The gasket is also straightforward to replace when required. |
|
| No screws, rivets or structural adhesives The RECUBOX® casing is made from a single material using hot-gas welding technology. This produces strong, homogeneous and airtight joints without the risk of corrosion affecting conventional metal fasteners or gradual deterioration of bonded structural joints. |
|
| Wide range of sizes RECUBOX® units are manufactured in a wide range of dimensions and performance variants. Their custom design makes it possible to create a suitable solution even for installations with limited space. |
|
| Designed for counterflow heat exchangers RECUBOX® OPEN units are designed for a wide range of counterflow heat exchangers, and their specific construction is always adapted to the installed exchanger type. |
|
| Wide performance range The RECUBOX® range enables systems to be designed for applications ranging from small residential installations to large ventilation systems with airflow rates of several thousand m³/h. |
|
| Ioniser connection option Depending on the requirements of the installation, the system can be supplemented with, for example, a MALAPA IN03 ioniser or other ventilation components. |
|
| Maximum flexibility The positions of the inlet and outlet connections can be adapted to the specific project, duct routing, required connection diameters and the available space in the plant room. |
|
| Mirrored configuration A mirrored configuration is available for all suitable variants. Condensate drainage is provided via a threaded 1/2" connection and, depending on the specific design, may be prepared in several positions. |
We provide an extended 12-year warranty on the airtightness of RECUBOX® casings.
The casing is manufactured from high-quality polypropylene and joined using hot-gas welding technology, creating homogeneous, strong and permanently stable joints without the risk of corrosion or gradual separation of structural joints.
Unlike designs that use bonded joints, rivets, sealing tapes or combinations of different materials, RECUBOX® retains its airtightness and mechanical strength even after many years of operation.
| Easy installation Installation is simplified by at least eight prepared brackets with holes for threaded rods. The RECUBOX® can be suspended from the ceiling or mounted on a wall using the brackets positioned along its rear. |
|
| Large-area filters The large filter area helps reduce the air velocity through the filter medium and limits pressure drop. The filter frames also allow the filter medium to be replaced easily. As standard, the RECUBOX® is fitted with class M5. |
| BY-PASS The BY-PASS is available either as a separate bypass section or as an integrated solution with manual control or preparation for an actuator. The BY-PASS shaft diameter is 14 mm. |
For an additional charge, RECUBOX® OPEN can be supplied with extended preparation for measurement, cabling and safe electrical installation.
This equipment package, which is included as standard in the RECUBOX® VENT-READY range, simplifies sensor installation, cable routing, fan connection and future servicing or system expansion.
The optional preparation must be selected during the ordering process or specified in the order notes.
RECUBOX® OPEN RX 04/300 can be ordered with either a plastic or an aluminium counterflow heat exchanger.
The specific heat exchanger is selected during the ordering process. The RECUBOX® construction is always adapted to the dimensions and design of the selected exchanger.
The variant is selected during the ordering process.

The dimensions shown include 30 mm thermal insulation and the second casing. If the dimensions need to be adjusted, for example due to larger duct connections, insulation or another technical modification, we will inform you after the order has been placed and before production begins.

Service access – dimension E Sufficient space must be left in front of the RECUBOX® service door to allow the heat exchanger to be withdrawn from the module. E = C − 60 mm Integrated BY-PASS – dimension F The integrated BY-PASS is positioned behind the heat exchanger and increases the overall depth of the RECUBOX® by approximately one third of the basic depth. F = 1/3 × C The BY-PASS opens a fresh-air bypass route around the heat exchanger with a very low pressure drop. In this design, opening the BY-PASS does not close the route through the heat exchanger. However, because the open bypass route has a substantially lower pressure drop, the volume of air passing through the exchanger is minimised. |
RECUBOX® is manufactured according to the selected configuration. The position and diameter of the connections, service-door orientation, condensate-drain position, insulation type, BY-PASS design and other construction details can be adapted to the specific installation.
If the selected configuration cannot be implemented for technical reasons, or if another solution would be more suitable, we will contact you before production begins.

The product price includes the integrated heat exchanger and the configuration specified for the selected product variant. Optional accessories, preparation for sensors and electrical installation, and individual construction modifications depend on the configuration selected during the ordering process.
