RECUBOX® X-POOL HRV 2000 – Chemically resistant recovery unit for swimming pools and aggressive environments
All-plastic version of RECUBOX®
Chemically resistant RECUBOX® suitable for swimming pools and the chemical industry
Performance from 0 - 2000 m3/h.
RECUBOX® X-POOL
RECUBOX® X-POOL is a premium chemically resistant heat recovery unit designed for air heat recovery in swimming pools, wellness centres, saunas, laboratories and other spaces with high humidity or the presence of mildly aggressive chemicals.
Why choose RECUBOX® X-POOL
- High chemical resistance for pool and corrosive environments
- Robust welded construction without screws, rivets or adhesives
- Easy cleaning and high hygiene standard
- Simple installation and easy servicing
- High design flexibility and connection spigot positioning
- Long service life even in demanding operating conditions
Design and material construction
The entire unit casing, flanges, filter frame, holders and other external components are made of high-quality polypropylene (PP). The design is created without unnecessary metal parts, with an emphasis on maximum resistance in demanding environments.
The unit material is highly resistant to:
- chlorine and ozone in swimming pool operation,
- acids and alkalis,
- solvents, alcohols and volatile organic compounds (VOC),
- salt mist and corrosive humidity.
The construction uses 100% welded joints. This means no bonded joints, no adhesive seals and minimal risk of leakage. All important sealing elements are mechanically designed and are easy to replace.
Smooth hygienic walls allow easy cleaning and maintenance. The unit is designed to offer very low service requirements while maintaining a high hygiene standard.
Thanks to their robust construction, high quality and maximum hygienic safety, our RECUBOX® units are part of a number of CTU projects, including the unique S.A.W.E.R. system, which UCEEB is developing for extracting drinking water from air.
Heat exchanger – RECUTECH EPOXY version
The unit is equipped with a heat exchanger in epoxy version, suitable for operation in more aggressive and corrosive environments.
- Corrosion resistance according to ASTM B117, tested in a salt spray chamber (NaCl 5% / 35 °C) for up to 1,000 hours
- High resistance to solvents – for example trichloroethylene and tetrachloroethylene
- Technical parameters corresponding to counterflow aluminium heat exchangers without epoxy coating

Installation and maintenance
- Fans are not part of the unit – they are installed directly into the duct system, saving space in the plant room.
- If needed, the fans can be replaced quickly without interfering with the RECUBOX® unit itself.
- The unit is designed for easy service access and simple maintenance.
A better choice than all-stainless heat recovery
Thanks to the properties of polypropylene, RECUBOX® X-POOL is, in selected applications, a very attractive alternative to all-stainless solutions. In aggressive chemical environments, even stainless steel may suffer corrosion over time, while a quality PP construction maintains its stability and tightness over the long term.
Perfect choice for
- Swimming pools, water parks, wellness centres and saunas – environments with chlorine and high humidity
- Laboratories and fume hoods – heat recovery in mildly aggressive chemical environments
- Chemical facilities and storage areas, including filling stations
- Paint shops, galvanizing plants and treatment facilities with corrosive vapours
- Agricultural buildings – for example environments with ammonia or silage gases
- Production and technological containers in corrosive and humid environments
Main advantages of RECUBOX® units
| Easy heat exchanger removal The heat exchanger can be removed from the unit very easily and quickly, literally in one move. |
|
| Maximum hygiene Both the unit and the heat exchanger can be easily removed and thoroughly cleaned. The heat exchanger is certified with the ILH Berlin hygiene certificate and the RECUBOX® material is also suitable for demanding hygienic applications. |
|
| Mechanical sealing without adhesives The heat exchanger is sealed in a groove without the use of adhesives or adhesive tapes, which degrade over time. The seal can be easily replaced if needed. |
|
| No screws, rivets or adhesives RECUBOX® is made from a single material using hot-gas welding technology. The result is absolutely tight joints without degradation caused by ageing. |
|
| Wide size range Thanks to the broad range of sizes, we can design a suitable RECUBOX® even for spaces with limited installation options. |
|
| Compatibility with RECUTECH heat exchangers RECUBOX® X-POOL units are designed for the complete range of EUROVENT-certified RECUTECH heat exchangers in EPOXY version. |
|
| Wide performance range RECUBOX® units cover a broad spectrum of applications, from smaller installations to large technological operations. |
|
| Maximum flexibility The positioning of inlet and outlet spigots can be configured in a very wide range of variants according to the specific application. |
|
| Mirror configuration All variants are also available in mirror design. Condensate drainage is provided by a 1/2" threaded fitting and is installed in two positions. |
Additional practical advantages
Easy installation thanks to prepared mounting holes for threaded rods.
Large-surface filters allow the use of any filter media. In the standard version, the unit is equipped with filter media of class M5.
By-pass is available as a shortcut section or as an integrated version with the possibility of servo actuator control.

Service access and 100% by-pass dimensions
![]() |
Service access – dimension E A minimum space corresponding to the heat exchanger length must be left in front of the RECUBOX® doors so that the heat exchanger can be removed comfortably. E = C - 60 [mm] Integrated by-pass – dimension F The integrated by-pass is located behind the heat exchanger and increases the unit depth by approximately one third. F = 1/3 × C [mm] By-pass damper control can be ensured by simple installation of any servo actuator onto the 12 × 12 mm square shaft. The by-pass opens the fresh air bypass route behind the heat exchanger while simultaneously closing the path through the heat exchanger. The mechanism is made as a louvre system from galvanized sheet metal. Because it is positioned on the fresh air side, it is not normally exposed to aggressive chemical impurities from the exhaust air. |
